Background and Summary:

Carolyn Swift, Director of Assessment and Accountability, and the Executive Leadership Team presented 2024-2025 Policy Updates to the Board for consideration upon first reading on on May 30, 2024 and approval on August 1, 2024. Since that meeting the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) has provided additional revisions to policies BDD (Electronic Participation in School Board Meetings From Remote Locations), BDDL (Electronic Participation in Committee Meetings from Remote Locations), GC (Professional Staff), IAA (Notification of Learning Objectives), JEC (School Admission), and JO (Student Records).
A table summarizing the types of changes in each policy is attached. The revisions are provided in redline format. The strike-through format shows each change made to the policies (the changes are designated by underlining new language and striking through deleted language).
