Background and Summary:

Each year the Virginia School Boards Association allows school boards to nominate three local businesses that provide support to their school division. This is appreciated as schools face increasing budget uncertainty. The Business Honor Roll helps divisions say “thank you” to businesses for their vital contributions.
Dr. Stacey Heltz, Charlottesville Area Technical Education Center (CATEC) Director, will present the 2025 VSBA Business Honor Roll Nominees (and resolutions) to the Board for approval. Nominees include Carter Myers Automotive (CMA), Gaston & Wyatt, and Our Lady of Peace.
Later this year, VSBA will publish the Business Honor Roll in the Association’s newsletter and recognize the businesses or organizations on the VSBA website. The VSBA will also mail personalized recognition letters of congratulations for each business and send the division contact a copy of the letter and electronic certificate (s).
Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) will be recognized for their support of our students’ work-based learning experiences, participation in Advisory Boards, and hiring events have aided this community in focusing on the goal of providing the best public schools we can for every child who attends them. Todd A. Wheeler, Service Manager, and Beth Lucchesi, Community Recruiting Specialist, will be present to represent Carter Myers Automotive (CMA).
Gaston & Wyatt will be recognized for their commitment and dedication to providing ongoing support of this community’s public schools. Gaston & Wyatt’s participation in supporting work-based learning opportunities and active participation on Advisory Boards have aided this community in focusing on the goal of providing the best public schools we can for every child who attends them. Jeff Earney, People Operations Manager, will be present to represent Gaston & Wyatt.
Our Lady of Peace will be recognized for their commitment and dedication to providing ongoing support of this community’s public schools. Our Lady of Peace’s willingness to support our students’ clinical experiences, participation in Advisory Boards, and hiring events have aided this community in focusing on the goal of providing the best public schools we can for every child who attends them. Rachel Lindberg, Executive Director, and Dora Gregory, Director of Nursing, will be present to represent our Lady of Peace.
