Kim Powell, Chief Operations Officer, and Todd Koogler, Coordinator of Safety and Security, will present Safety Audit Action Steps (including Decision-Making Process for SROs) for Board discussion.
Information presented will outline various aspects of safety and security measures in schools. It includes recommendations for ALICE training, recovery planning, and resource officers. The presentation will also summarize the analysis of preparedness levels in different areas and details an independent safety/security audit conducted by Navigate 360. Additionally, it addresses school resource officers, as requested by the school board in May 2024.
The supporting "Procedure for Review of School Safety & Security" document details the process developed to evaluate whether School Resource Officers should be included in the safety model. It includes steps for ongoing evaluation, the purpose of the review process, and the background leading to the development of the process.
